Comfortable seating and nice background music, thus the one star. But it stops there, people. There was a loud drunk at the bar spewing profanity (on a Monday afternoon), which apparently the staff thought hilarious. The waitress only refilled the water for the men at our table, my daughter-in-law and I being overlooked somehow. And the food, if you want to call it that, was horrendous. My philly steak sandwich on a "hoagie roll" (dried out, stale hot dog bun) was actually two shriveled pieces of beef, awkwardly cut chunks of onion and bell pepper and a piece of American Swiss cheese (straight from its wrapper) that wasn't even melted. Ditto the bun on my husband's BLT. He had to ask for some mayo so that he could choke it down. As we left he commented to me, "It's like the food was made with disdain." As nearly 30-year residents of the area, we were ashamed that a local Gallup restaurant could not take more pride in itself. We will not be back.
Every trip we make to Gallup, we used to always stop to get the open faced Chile burger.. only this trip our service was HORRIBLE. Somehow "the cook didn't see or order". We sat for about 30 minutes waiting for food while other patrons for their food. Or server didn't bother to check on us. We flagged down the hostess who checked in our order. They said it would be right out...nope...10 minutes later we paid for our drinks and left. Went to El Sombrero where the service was absolutely AMAZING. never going back to coal street pub.

This pub is amazing. I had so much fun there. There's and open mic.
We accidentally found this pub on Sunday. It had A fascinating appearance. The prices were low for good simple meals. The waitress was kind enough to find two old cups for us to water our cats. - well worth a stop.
