The wait here is horrible. It is faster to drive an hour away to Grants for MVD services.
This place is a nightmare out of a horror novel I read once. The waiting times are ridiculously long and sometimes it can take all day to get help even if you arrived early in the morning when they open. The number system for your turn in line does not function properly and the automated voice system calls out random numbers repeatedly without end. Eventually, the employees start to yell out numbers at people and I think one person's only job there is to walk around and ask everyone who's turn it is to go next. If you're actually lucky enough to get helped, be prepared to face unaccommodating and rude employees who are reluctant to answer most questions and like to complicate the process for receiving any services from their office. It took me three days to get a driver's license and register my car there and upon each returning visit, I was asked supply more paperwork . Be sure to bring bank drafts, multiple utility bills, copies of leases, employment verification letters, your SSI card and passport--you'll need all of it and maybe more! I had to take sick leave from work just to finish my business there and the whole process left me feeling traumatized and wondering why I thought it was a good idea to move to New Mexico.
Some of the lady's are very rude. Grants has better employees.
